The Best Time of the Year

Fall has arrived. The days are shorter and the mornings and evenings are quite cold. Yesterday we had our first snow. It did not stick to the ground but the mountains are covered. People who love winter sports are probably getting pretty excited.
We finally finished all our canning. We did more this year that we have done in quite some time. Basically green beans, salsa and tomato sauce. I am excited to be able to eat those delicious products this winter.
The busy craft season has started. I will be doing 3 different craft shows in the next couple of months, so I have been working hard trying to have enough inventory to sell at all of them. I am planning for a very successful season.

My "To Do" list

It has been almost 2 months since my last post. Life gets busy. It doesn't matter if it is summer or winter, the "to do" list goes on and on and never ends. I do enjoy the business of my life and here are a few of the things that I have had my hands and mind on lately.
Every year my husband plants a garden. One of my favorite vegetables is tomatoes. There is nothing that compares to a vine ripened tomato. So I try to bottle some tomato sauce for the winter months.  This is only the beginning.

This is another reason why I am so busy. I have several others, 4 children, a husband,  church responsibilities, and friends and not in any particular order.

Some of my costumers place special orders. Here are a few of them. This is a sign for a store. One side says "OPEN" the other side says "CLOSED". I matched the colors with the ones she has in her store and she was pleased.  It was a challenged, but there is always so much to learn.

A friend of mine made a quilt for one of her grand-daughters and she asked me to embroider her name on the front. This will be, for sure, a favorite.

Another friend had twin grand-daughters.                                                                                                   The personalized receiving blankets made their blessing day even more special.

I can't  believe  I am thinking of Thanksgiving already.                                                                                       When I saw these embroidery designs  I immediately thought of "Bread Baskets".                                                              They will add a touch of elegance to your table anytime of the year.                                                                  What a nice gift at only $ 8.00  each.

Now comes the babies' section.

I made these to give them as gifts, but I can make more for a special order.

Onesies for boys and girls. It reads " I am a Child of God" in pink or blue.

These bibs are cute, fun and very original!

My father turned 86 in August. He deserved a special gift.

For my husband on "Father's Day" I embroidered this pillow with fly fishing attire and flies. Now he rests his head on it when he reads.
The fly fishing embroidery will look great on a men's apron too.

Can You Believe It?

Yes, I can't believe we are half way through July. Sooner than we might want, the children will be back in school and we will be back to our normal routines. But sewing and embroidering are part of my routine no matter what time of the year we are in. So here are a few my summer projects.

A friend ordered this for her dad for Father's Day. He likes to play tennis, so I designed this apron for a very special dad.

This was another special order for a lucky girl.                                                                                                     The Tooth Fairy will find her lost tooth without any  problems now.

When I saw these embroidery designs I thought instantly that they would look great on a decorative pillow. I also think they will be great on a little bag. I need to try this next.

I have a 2 months old great-niece. I made these gifts for her. In the picture below you can see the reversible apron with her name embroidered on it and also a diaper clutch with a cute embroidery design of baby clothes on a clothes liner. So cute!

And the last things are 3 more library bags. Anybody would love them.

It Is Almost Summer, But It Sure Doesn't Feel Like It.

I definitely love summer. The heat. The long, sunny days. Green grass freshly cut. The noises children make when they play outside. Family BBQs. Fresh fruit, specially strawberries, cherries and peaches. I don't know why but we have only had a few warm days. We have had a lot of rain. I don't mine the rain, but I want summer weather to come and soon. Cloudy days are depressing.  At least I have my sewing that always keeps my spirit up.

I have been working on some special orders. The blue and yellow reversible apron was designed for a former Miss Idaho. These are her favorite colors.

A special grandma got lucky with this apron. I embroidered all of her grandchildren's names on it.  She will wear it with pride.

This fabric was screaming "apron" to me. I could not resist to buy it. It is so cute.

Father's Day is June 19th. If you are out of ideas, this is a nice one. A personalized apron with his name on it, or with one of the designs I already have.  Only $18.00 for a high quality and unique apron. He is going to love it.

And for my patriotic customers, 2  10x10 decorative pillows with an Americana theme.
